How to find people on Spiritual Connections!

 

You can find people of similar interest by browsing the interest groups and clicking on the icon of those in the group, then add as a friend.

You can search by members name if you are looking for somebody specific.  You just visit the members tab on the menu and type the name of the person or the business name into the search bar.  Then press enter.  If there are no results, you will be told this.  You can also arrange the members in order of recently joined or alphabetical so you can look by name or make friends with new members.  You will see the pull down menu on the members page.

If you are looking for all members in a particular area, you would do the same as above, but instead of typing the name in the search bar, you would type the location- eg Qld.

If you are looking for anything specific at all, you can type that word in the search bar.  Eg Reiki brings up one member.  For this reason, if you want people to find you, it is best to put as much information about yourself on your profile as possible.

You can also find people via the content they add (blogs, photos and videos etc).  Under the interest menu, there is a submenu of all of these things.  Browsing these gives you a good idea of who you would like to connect to.  Click on the item of choice and you will see their profile icon next to it.  Click on the photo and you will be redirected to their page where you will find their contact detail and will also be able to invite them as a friend and email them directly through the site or write on their wall.

So if you want to meet like minded people, get cracking adding your own content!

If you want to find people by specialty, modality, products or area, eg readers in wamberal.  You will find them in the service and product directory- searchable by these categories, as long as they have listed.

Use Your Profile Page as a shopfront for your products and services!  

 

You can do this by uploading photos to your page that are relevant for your business.  You can then also display them as a slideshow and drag the photo box to the top of your page.

These will display on your page for visitors, flash up randomly on the Spiritual Connections Home Page  and also be seen when others visit the "photos" page under the "interest menu". Photos that share the ambience of your therapy space or workshop space, events always give people a better idea of what you are all about.

If you have products to sell you can put these into relevant albums with information on how to buy in the description. eg Upload photos that are natural skin products to an album of that name, then in the description of the album explain that this range of products are produced by you and add any information somebody who was looking for this kind of products might need to know.  Add tag words in the dialogue box that people would use to search for these kind of products.  This will mean that anybody searching the world wide web can find your products- it is not limitted to the spiritual connections site searches.

Once you have uploaded your photos to albums, you can then describe the individual items within each album and use tage words for them.  In the description, remember to also tell people how to purchase each item, such as "available in 50ml bottle and 250ml bottle, call 4352 6123 to order, or visit this website, www.....

Good examples are Louise Anderson and Infinte Crystal.

Flink It!  

 

The "flink it" feature allows you to store all your favourite websites in a place you can always find it! And also to share it with your friends.

It will store every website to put it and allow you to highlight the ones that are your favourites and search on them via key words. You can also see which websites your friends have stored and which websites all members of the site have stored.

To get started:

•  Go to the interest menu  
• Hover over it until you see the submenu  
• Click on "my links" and  
• Have fun typing in your favourite websites
• Add tags to help with searches.
• Add a description so your friends know what the website is about and so you can remember why you like it! 

You can chose who you share it with and write a little summary about why it is so good, including your own website!

Noticeboard

How to use the noticeboard 

 

Do you have a question you want answered?  An item you are looking to find?  A Therapy Room you have to rent out?  Or even looking for shared accommodation with a spiritual person?

 

There are two features you can use on the noticeboard- Listings & Answers.

Listings

Listings is found under the noticeboard menu as a submenu (hold your cursor over the noticeboard and the submenu will come up.  There are several categories you can list or search under in the listings.  By clicking on each category you will see the listings appear in date order, witht he most recent at hte top.  You can click on the picture of the person who posed it to visit their page and contact them.

 

 

Answers

Answers works the same way as above and is also found int he submenu of the noticeboard but is used if you are wanting answers to a question such as- "Does anyone know who has written the best book on psychic phenomena?"

 

Listings posted on the noticeboard for the month will be included int he newsletter each month.

How to share your specials and offers on your products or services.

1. Click on the offers tab in the menu- here

2. You will see instructions and a choice of pages to add your specials to.  If you have ebooks to share, a special on healing or therapies, or products, there is a page for you to list on, just click on the appropriate link.

3. Add your comment on the wall, explaining what the offer is and how people can partake. 

4. They will be able to click on your image to be redirected to your page, or you can add website links and images of products or your therapy.

5.  Have fun with it.  It will also be seen by those who visit the specials page on the service and product directories.  There is an option of advertising specials in the directories as well.  Contact Tracy  or Lisa for more information.

How to share the content you like. 

 

 

Did you know that you can share any information you like on spiritual connections with facebook, twitter and a number of other social media?

At the bottom of blogs, video and even members profiles, there are buttons with the facebook and twitter icons and a "share" button.  Click on these to have the content be linked to your facebook/twitter etc page..

By clicking the "share" button you will also be given the option of emailing the content to a friend, sending it to your spiritual connections friends or your contacts on you email account.

How to set up your page

Upload a profile photo and play with appearance of your page and privacy settings all on the left hand side under your profile picture. Below this profile photo is your control panel where you can mange photos, privacy settings, appearance or your background etc. This is also where you can share your Spiritual Connections content with Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.

Text Box

You can add text to the text box and drag it to the top of your page to tell people who visit your page a little about you (can add images and weblinks to this box and attach documents using the icons in the dialogue box, click on "edit" the blue title tab of the text box to get started).

Photos

It is a good idea to upload a profile photo both for business or personal profiles (click on the image) which also be changed later under the "manage Photo" link in the left hand side control panel.

You can also upload photos to your page that are relevant to you personally or relevant photos for your business. These will display on your page for visitors and also be seen when others visit the "photos" page under the "interest menu". If you have products to sell you can put these into relevant albums with information on how to buy in the description. (more info about this in later blog). Good examples are Louise Anderson and Infinte Crystal. Now chose whether your photos are viewed in a slideshow, you can drag the items on your page around by dragging the blue title bar for each box. You may want to move this box to the top of your page, or just under your textbox by dragging it from the blue title bar.

Activity

Whenever you write a blog or do any activity, people will be able to find them in several places. The first place is on your page in the box below your control panel and profile photo where it lists your events, interest groups, photos, friends, blogs etc. Every blog will also be displayed on everyones page and home page when it is the most recent blog. Other activities will be shown on the home page under latest activity as well as your own page and everyones photos, articles etc will be found by selecting the relevant item from the menus and submenus along the top of the page. Any activity you wish to be private can be done so by using the privacy settings, under the "manage page" link under your profile photo. If you want to be seen, and connect with more people, then the more activity the better! Browse the interest menu (hover on it and you will see the submenus come up) to checkout articles, photos, videos, websites listed by other members.

Lets Get Social

The first things to get started on when you have joined up is to go through the members and make friends (click on the profile via the members tab and then select "Add as friend" down the left side of their profile page).

You can join interest groups (interest menu) and/or make you own and invite people to it if your interest is not already there. Interest groups are set up to connect people who have similar interest and also for those providing a service or with a special interest in these topics, they can be listed on the page by writing a comment with the article/document or link included. You can start discussions or ask other members questions. Everyone in the group will get an alert that there has been activity in this group. You can also select to not receive the alert.

Other features!

Other useful features are the mylinks (Flinks) where you can store your own favourite websites and share them with others. This is located under the interest menu (hover over it and you will see mylinks in the submenu)

Email Box

On the right hand side, where you sign in you will find your email inbox, alerts, friends and settings. This box will alway be in the same place on every page for you. To write emails to your friends (must have already befriended them on spiritual connections), you can email them from the "inbox" tab in this box or go to yor friends page by clicking on friends and selecting your friend (Their profile pic is also listed down the left hand side of your page under your control panel so you can click here to visit their page). If you visit their age you can click down the left hand side of their page on "write on wall" or "send message".

If you write on their wall, others will see what you have written unless you select "this person only" or "friends only" when composing your message. Writing an email means that only the friend will receive the email and they will get an alert that they have an email to view.

More detailed information

Spiritual Connections will send more detailed instructions for each feature gradually over the next few months, until then, have a look at the menus along the top by hovering over them to see the submenus. Also anything that is orange (unless you have changed your appearance of course!) is clickable. Have a look at what others are doing and have a go at customising your page. Add a Video-

You can add video to your profile page, blog, comments, interest groups etc if you have an embed code.  You get this from you tube or any of the online video applications such as You Tube.  You copy and paste the membed code into the dialogue box when you add a video.

Step by Step:

1. If you are starting from scratch, record your video and then upload it to youtube or similar.
2. Click on the "Add Video" button on every page of theinteractive site, down the right hand side wher eyou see all the videos.  Alternatively, hover your cursor over the "interest" menu and click on videos, where you will see all videos that have been added to spiritual connections website, and click on "add a video".
3. Pick up the embed code (sitting on the video display on youtube) and copy it, paste it into the section where it says:  ""  Click done.

To add your video into a text box such as discussion, comment, blog or profile page text box, simply edit the box, then click on the media icon (looks like a film reel) and then paste int he embed code.

Tips for using Spiritual Connections Interactive!!

How to Make Friends
Now that you have joined spiritual connections and started expressing yourself via your profile page, uploading videos, photos, articles and events: you now can start connecting with others.  There are several ways to find members with similar interests to you.

Interest Groups
Have a browse through the interest groups (click on interest menu) and joint he groups you are attracted to by clicking on them int he list and them clicking on "join group".  Make comments (box will automatically come up for your to add a comment, and then press save), start discussions (click on add discussion under the discussion box) or reply to others content by clicking on the discussion or blog to open it and adding a comment, then pressing save.  If there are no interest groups you like, then make your own using the "Add interest group" button.  Once you have joined the interest group, you can look at the box of members in the group  and see if you would like to make freinds with any of them.  If so, click on the picture of them and then once you have been redirected to their profile, you can click "add as a friend" on their profile page (under their image).

Browse Media

Another way to find people you would like to connect to, is to visit the interest menu, but this time click on the items in the sub menu- such as videos, photos, blogs.  Browse through these until you find items you like.  If you click on it, it will show you who added the content and you can click on the image to visit their page and then "Add as a friend".  They will need to confirm you as a friend and then you can start connecting via email and writing on their wall.

Chat

If somebody is online at the same time as you, you will see that along the bottom panel of your screen and will have the option to chat to them via the chat box.  This box is located on the main page (Home page), just scroll down tot the bottom of the page to start a conversation.  You can have a private conversation or a public one with one person or several.
